The Spring Forum of Excellent Young Scholars of Home and Abroad at Chongqing University in 2023 (Branch Venue) was held on June 18th in the Sixth Teaching Building at School of Electrical Engineering in Campus A. This forum invited 8 young talents from domestic and international universities to our school for academic exchanges, aiming to explore new tracks driven by talent leadership, promote exchanges and cooperation, and facilitate outstanding young talents to join Chongqing University. The forum was attended by Professor Hu Jianlin, Party Secretary of the School of Electrical Engineering at Chongqing University, Professor Xie Kaigui, Dean School of Electrical Engineering, Professor Sima Wenxia, Director of the Academic Committee, Professor Wang Mingyu, Director of the Teaching Guidance Committee and Chairman of the Trade Union, Professor Li Hui, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory, Associate Dean Wang Xiaojing, as well as heads of secondary disciplines and teacher representatives.
At the opening ceremony, Secretary Hu Jianlin extended a warm welcome and sincere greetings to the young scholars. He expressed his hope that the young scholars would closely focus on key disciplinary areas, jointly explore cutting-edge academic topics, spark innovative ideas in academic exchanges, and he looked forward to even more outstanding young scholars joining the School of Electrical Engineering. He hoped they would work together to inject new vitality into the construction of major national strategies, as well as the Double First-Class construction of Chongqing University and the School of Electrical Engineering.
Dean Xie Kaigui introduced the rich historical heritage of the School of Electrical Engineering, systematically elaborating on its current status in terms of organizational structure, discipline construction, infrastructure, faculty team, talent cultivation, social services, and exchange cooperation. With genuine love for talent, careful cultivation, sincere attraction, and meticulous utilization, Dean Xie extended a heartfelt invitation to the outstanding young scholars present, hoping that each of them would choose Chongqing University and the School of Electrical Engineering to pursue their personal careers.
Professor Fang Sidun, Talent Commissioner of the School of Electrical Engineering and representative of the Department of Power Systems and its Automation, delivered an academic presentation. Professor Fang introduced the comprehensive energy system of ports, shared research on port transfer vehicle dispatching and energy management cooperative optimization methods. He also exchanged relevant views with the attending young scholars.
In addition, young scholars from around the world, including Wang Xueliang, Dan Yihua, Mou Di, Chen Ge, Shang Ruiqi, Zhong Zhuoyan, Yuan Hui, and Zeng Zhiqiang, delivered fascinating academic presentations. They shared their research achievements and the latest developments in their respective fields, covering a wide range of research areas such as high-temperature superconductors, polymer insulators, electromagnetic simulation computing, grid optimization, novel motors, and power electronic transformers.
Experts and scholars attending the forum engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges with the young scholars regarding hot research topics and future development directions. The atmosphere on-site was vibrant and enthusiastic.
After the presentations, the school organized a tour for the young scholars to visit the State Key Laboratory of Power Transmission Equipment Technology. Faculty members Chengli provided detailed and vivid introductions to the instruments and research achievements in each laboratory, and also gave comprehensive answers to questions raised by the young scholars.
Finally, the school leaders and faculty members engaged in talent discussions with the young scholars, expressing the School of Electrical Engineering's emphasis on talent introduction. They hoped that the young scholars would consider joining School of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University in the future, becoming integral members of the distinguished electrical engineering community.
